Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of ColourPop. They have pretty great quality products for cheap prices. And who isn’t a fan of cheap prices? Like with any line there are some misses in colors and quality, but for the most part ColourPop has great consistency with their product lines. ColourPop has eye shadow, lip products, highlighters, bronzers, and blushes. They often do collabs with popular makeup artists on YouTube as well.
The consistency of their shadows are almost spongy in texture, but creamy at the same time – if that makes sense. You have to make sure to keep the lids tight on the products in pots or else they will dry out.
Each shipment comes with a handwritten note with some cheeky type of compliment. One time I received one that read, “Out of all the sugar plum fairies, you’re our favorite one.” It’s a nice touch, and makes me feel like they want customers to know their business is valued.
The only other negative I have experienced with ColourPop is when they release a new product. Good luck trying to get it. They don’t have fast enough servers, and with so many people trying to buy the new product, your order can barely or doesn’t even go through at times.
Even with that, I’m still a fan. I just wait until the product becomes less popular and scoop it up.
For this review, my sister and I tested the products in the “Barely Blitzed” collection. There are four shadows (one of the pots has two half shadows in it) and three lip products in the collection. We really enjoyed all the colors except for the Lippie Stix Deja. We both tried it on and thought to ourselves, Who in the heck would look flattering in this color? It’s like a mustardy nude color. If you are one of them, please let us know!
Clover is a dusty pink, and Bambi is a berry red. All the lip products are matte. One word of advice for the lipsticks is to use their corresponding lip liner with it. If you put the liner all over your lips first and then the lipstick over it, it wears longer and is more vibrant. Each swatch is 3 swipes. Each lipstick is 1g each in product.
Now for the Super Shock Shadows. There is a duo pot with a dark black with gold flecks and a nice matte teal color named Effect/Fleek. Then there is a soft peach shadow with glitter named Solstice. And finally, To-A-T -a warm brown shadow, that is matte. My sister’s favorite color was Solstice. She is a Cool 3 Creamy Natural in L’Oreal True Match foundation. However, on me, a Warm 6 Sun Beige, it looked very chalky. My favorite color on me was definitely To-A-T.
All in all I give this collection a B+.
Sound off below! Do you like any of these colors? Do you think you would try anything from ColourPop? Do you have this collection? What’s your favorite shadow/lip shade?
